The Wool Applied

Le lainage Appliqué : if you are a regular patchwork, you already know applied, but applied with the wool, cutting edge is applied to the franc and dots easy application. This technique thus allows even nones-insiders engage in applied very quickly.

The wool work brings softness and incomparable warmth. Big or small work, try this matter, you'll love it.

Using patchwork fabric, usually fine cotton printed, it is necessary to make a small back and a small invisible point.
Many different technique for a perfect result, difficult to obtain for beginners.

Applied with wool, or felt applied, the first advantage is a clean cut pieces without seam allowance

The second advantage is a sewing much easier and pleasant than applied patchwork "classic".

And last not least, no quilting!

But let the pictures clearer than words!

With a sheet of paper freezer,
copy the piece to apply..

With a hot iron, ironing
the wool.

Carefully cut off the path and the paper sheet.

Guiding you to the photo of the model or drawing on the form, place the pieces in ensuring logical order.

For example, the legs are longer than what is visible and will come slipping under the body, and the head rests on the body.

You can also opt for placement "perfect." To take it a plastic (eg a pocket cut in two and open to a larger model, think roll plastic sheet to cover school books), trace the drawing with a permanent marker to plastic.

Place the plastic on the bottom, drag the pieces below and guide you in the drawing to place them.

Lift the plasctic and pin.

Sewing points around small part. In the example points are intentionally a little long. Depending on the model, your tastes, the color of the thread with respect to wool (toning or contrasting), you can make points 1 to 3 mm long and spaced 2 to 5 mm. No blanket stitch (unless desired), they are just dots perpendicular to the cut.

Continue placing the other parts.

If necessary not completely sew some pieces to slide pieces below before continuing.

As in this example photo, we first outline stitched sheep except the bottom, then slide the legs and continue.

While sewing and if necessary, cut with small sharp scissors small pieces of wool that would be unsightly and do as pikes and frays after sewing.

As it is not always easy to pinpoint very small pieces, they can stick with glue dots just to place before sewing.

By the head and feet were glued, but are also sewn.

The Roxanne Glue Baste-it  is ideal for this with its tapered tip...

That's all, it's finish!

Finish for this sheep, but now play and sew!
